Grove Street To Host Food Truck Festival in Support of Nonprofit
The Grove Street community recently announced plans to host a Food Truck Festival in Support of Bread of the Mighty Food Bank
Gainesville, Fla. — Grove Street, the area of town nestled at the corner of NW 4th Street & 10th Avenue, recently announced plans to host a ‘Totally Awesome Food Truck Festival’ in support of Bread of the Mighty Food Bank. The upcoming Food Truck Festival is set to take place on Wednesday, March 31st, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and will include live music, family-friendly and pet-friendly activities, and plenty of awesome Food Trucks.
Grove Street business owner and stakeholder, Monica Albert, is leading the charge for this project, which will be in addition to an already thriving, recurring Monday Farmers Market. Wanting to further invigorate this special part of town, Monica quickly identified Grove Street as the perfect location for her next business, Mo’s Garage Salon Experience, who is also Sponsoring this event. No stranger to business ownership, Monica’s prior successes include the well known Sister’s Restaurant in Haile Village, which she ran with her family for years. An iconic mural of her parents can be found on the side of Mo’s Garage Salon on Grove Street, as a nod to the amazing partnership and love, found deep within their family roots.
“We’re really excited to help support the dynamic network of local businesses within this area of town” said Monica. She added, “Hosting these types of community events that are outdoors, and socially distanced will help ensure our businesses and nonprofits in this community thrive, even during tough, unprecedented times.”
Weekdays were chosen for the Farmers Market, and now the Food Truck Festival specifically, to further support businesses during times of week that might otherwise be a little quieter. The upcoming Food Truck Festival will host a dozen food trucks, along the corner of NW 4th Street and 10th Avenue, lining the block where Bread of the Mighty Food Bank is located. Activities will include live music, train rides, sidewalk chalk, bubble machines, and more. Additionally, many of the local businesses in the area will have extended hours and raffles to further enhance this Festival.
Mo’s Garage Salon Experience will also be acting as a drop-off location for a Critical Needs Drive the day of the event, which is also in support of Bread of the Mighty Food Bank. Critical Need items include, but are not limited to; potatoes (instant or canned), rice, pasta, peanut butter, jelly, granola, breakfast bars, cereal, oatmeal, grits, canned vegetables, canned proteins, canned fruit, snack crackers, soup, juice, shelf stable milk, coffee & tea, condiments, paper products, toiletries, and personal hygiene items. Additionally, a portion of proceeds from this event will be donated to Bread of the Mighty Food Bank as well.
This event is free and open to the public, and is kid & pet-friendly as well. For the health and safety of everyone, Grove Street is taking all necessary precautions according to the CDC. Please wear a mask and maintain a safe social distance while enjoying the festival.
